I am a less-than-a-year-experienced developer in Scala, and I use Play at the present in one of my main project. I must say that I found this book a fresh wind of knowledge, mostly because of the lack of updated documentation present online.

Play for Scala is very good primer if you want to start developing modern web applications using Play framework and Scala.I decided to read this book to learn a little more about 2 technologies which lately have gained momentum.

The book "Play for Scala" makes for a very interesting read for developers interested in diving into the Play Framework. In the first part of the book, an effort is made to manage the expectations of the reader and put things in context.
